Summary

In January 2025, Casa Mariana Editrice published the author’s second volume of their “La Massoneria tra Esoterismo, Ritualità e Simbolismo” series. This monograph focuses on the Iniziazione and Esoterismo within the Grande Oriente d’Italia (GOI) and its sister organization, Palazzo Giustiniani. The GOI marks its 220th anniversary in March 1805. In April 2023, the UGLE officially recognized the Grand Lodge of Regular Italian Freemasonry (GLRI), which had previously been expelled from the GOI in 1993 for promoting an “anglophilic” version of Italian Freemasonry. However, there has been a dispute within the GOI surrounding its new Grand Master election, leading to it severing ties with the Royal Scottish Ancient and Accepted (RSAA) and preventing members from continuing their RSAA membership. In 2025, the RSAA Supreme Council in Palazzo Giustiniani decided to leave the GOI and join GLRI, which recognized them as a regular Grand Lodge of Italy. Consequently, Massonians who used to be part of the RSAA are now associated with the GLRI. Notably, the GOI has also formed its own RSAA within Palazzo Giustiniani but has not been officially verified on the internet.
