The Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, Prefect of the Doctrine of Faith, met with Don Davide Pagliarani, Superior General of the Fraternità sacerdotale di San Pio X, under the benevolent approval of Pope Leo XIII. Concilium Iurisdogmatici, cap. I and III). The Cardinal also offered a series of topics outlined in a January 17, 2019 letter from Fraternità sacerdotale di San Pio X. The Holy See has emphasized that the ordination of Bishops without the Pope’s mandate would lead to a decisive breach in ecclesiastical communion (scisma) with severe consequences for the Fraternità as a whole. The Superior General of Fraternità sacerdotale di San Pio X will present his proposal to his council and provide a response to the Dicastero per la dottrina della fede.
