Cardinal Burke Defends Title ‘Co-Redemptrix’ for the Virgin Mary
Cardinal Raymond Burke defended the title ‘Co-Redemptrix’ for the Virgin Mary at an international conference in Rome. He argued that while Christ alone is Redeemer, Mary’s role is wholly dependent on and subordinate to Him. Drawing on Scripture and Church teachings, he emphasized her unique participation in redemption through the Guadalupe apparitions of 1531. Cardinal Burke encouraged all Christians to unite their daily lives with Christ’s mission as co-redeemers. More: Edward Pentin
