Cardinals Defend ‘Co-Redemptrix’ Title for Mary at Rome Conference

At an international conference in Rome, Cardinal Raymond Burke and Cardinal Gerhard Müller defended the Marian title of ‘Co-Redemptrix’ during discussions on Mary’s role in redemption. The event, titled De Maria numquam satis, gathered over 400 scholars to explore major dogmatic issues related to veneration of the Mother of God. The cardinals emphasized that while Mary’s role is subordinate to Christ’s salvific mission, her unique cooperation in salvation should be recognized and celebrated. Their defense came a year after Vatican II documents were criticized for avoiding the term due to potential misunderstandings. More: Edward Pentin
